Pioneer High

In 1969, Pioneer High in Ann Arbor Michigan is ripe with revolution as the
Vietnam war is nearing its end. Hala, a new emigrant from Palestine, joins
Pioneer High wearing pants which is strictly against school policy for
girls. Disorientated and weak in English, Hala, an unsuspecting, rebel
repeatedly disobeys the rules, wearing pants day after day. The teacher
sees his authority slipping and a revolt brewing as he is loosing control
of his classroom to the new girl's influence.
