Siri Miri
Siri Miri is an award-winning Palestinian short film set in the occupied West Bank that satirically captures the life of Palestinian youth living in a technological age and no-so-helpful AI assistants. Sick of their routine-run life spent coffee-sipping in smoke-filled coffeehouses, two teenagers turn to the help of Siri to no avail. This short film explores how the occupation affects every aspect of Palestinian life, including access to electricity and water, and a lack of freedom of movement.
Luay Awwad is a filmmaker based in Palestine. He graduated with a BA in filmmaking from Dar Al-Kalima University. Awwad has written and directed many short films. His short film “Siri Miri” won as the best short film in Palestine Cinema Days Festival. He also worked in many award winning films, such as The Present and In Vitro.
