The bus driver (woman) (2016)

The short film shows us the daily life and work of Salwa, a Palestinian woman working as a Kindergarten bus driver. On her route through the roads of Gaza, she debunks the all the myths on Arab muslim women, revealing an impressive trust in the future.

Iyad Alasttal, , born in Gaza, moved to Corte (Corsica) thanks to an international aid mission and studied Audiovisual Art at the University of Corsica. He graduated in 2013 with the short film “Donne un poisson à un homme” (give a man a fish) on traditional fishing techniques, which has been broadcasted on FR3 and participated to several film festivals.
In 2018 he directed “Razan, une trace du papillon” dedicated to the memory of Razan el-Najjar, the young Palestinian nurse killed by an Israeli sniper during the Great March of Return even though she was wearing her paramedical vest.
